926. “the private memoirs and confessions of a justified sinner” by james hogg

Another one for Utata‘s Iron Photographer challenge. The “Vanity Fair” shot is up on the Utata front page for the weekend, and I love the interpretation. The scenario the shot apparently depicts is so far from reality, I feel like I must’ve done a good job.

905. “vanity fair” by william makepeace thackeray

For Utata‘s Iron Photographer challenge, which was to take a picture including something in a pocket and a title from the much-debated 1001 Books You Must Read Before You Die. I did “Vanity Fair” first, which is pretty much cheating because it’s too obvious and easy, yeah? (A print of this one is now for [...]

more kroq almost acoustic christmas

Apparently I only ever posted one measly little Kanye shot from the KROQ Almost Acoustic Christmas. You can see zillions more on Prefix.

autolux at the henry fonda

Autloux at the Henry Fonda Music Box for Prefix. Tonight: Animal Collective.

lephotique’s eames necklace has babygirl garcia written all over it

Some people have really good taste. Apparently the designer behind the LePhotique stuff, Jacqueline Sourvelis, is one of them. They have Chicago transit map earrings, too. I think Jacqueline and Babygirl need to be friends.

street scene, back in the day

Once upon a time, it was warm enough to wear flipflops at night. Thus attired, I ran around San Diego for two days taking pictures at Street Scene for NME.com, then forgot to post a bunch of them.

welcome to 20009

Old friends, new friends, old camera, new flash.

my favourites of 2008: december

My favourite live shot for December has to be Kanye West at the Gibson Amphitheater, but the runners up are… MURS at the El Rey: Paramore at the Gibson Amphitheater: The Like at 4th & Main: Darker My Love at The Echoplex: And more MURS:

boxing day in highland park

I have great friends. Some of them are animals. On Boxing Day we hung out and watched comedies while the world’s most ridiculously ornate Christmas light arrangement glittered across the street through the window. Much fancy soda was consumed.
