It’s funny what you miss when you live far away from home for a few years, like stairs at tube stations.

Trash Talk played with Fucked Up at the Barfly in Camden on the day I arrived home in London. Good planning, kiddos.

October was probably the most mental month of shooting in my life, including Ray Jay and Gee waiting backstage in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Fuck Yeah Fest got renamed FYF Fest (I have it on dubious authority that, with the inexplicable extra F, the new name stands for Fuck Your Friends Fest) and took place outside in zillion degree heat, and I managed to slip in the bathroom old-lady style that morning and showed up with a concussion.

During Ninja Sonic and Japanther’s set the security barriers kept falling over and nutty blokes insisted on jumping off stage to dance with your intrepid photographer, who may or may not have been wearing an inappropriately alluring dress (it was the smack to the back of the head, I wasn’t thinking right when I got dressed) — it all got proper hectic, but I liked the pictures.

August was when I took pictures of Tearist for the first time (which was also my first shoot for Rocksound), but also when I got knocked about a bit by riot police and baby ravers at the aborted HARD Summer Fest.

Met lots of really, really cheerful little kiddos before the cops busted in, though. (HARD was shot for Prefix.)

Babygirl Garcia turned 21 in July 2009 and, after the most glorious of all Videothing projections, Michael did crazy dancing and I took a picture.

In June I shot 17 bands one weekend. Yikes.

Peaches at the Henry Fonda was shot for Prefix.
