“Turn the world over on its side and everything loose will land in Los Angeles.”
—Frank Lloyd Wright
Rachel Carr started taking pictures as a kid in deepest Essex. Now she shoots in Los Angeles and has a funny half-American accent.
She got a journalism degree from the University of Westminster, then ran around London with a camera for a glossy magazine in South Kensington for a while. Then she moved to Los Angeles to write and take pictures for travel magazines, as well as shooting lots of bands, actors, writers, artists, photographers and occasionally pomeranians (but they have to pay double.)
She’s shot for NME, LA Weekly, Brooklyn Vegan, LAist, LA Record, Prefix and Rockscope, amongst others. There’s talk of a photographic soap opera comic book in the works, too.
If you’d like to arrange a shoot or use a shot, please email Rachel.
